Overview

AISHE-C 2012, the eighth international conference of the All Ireland Society for Higher Education, will take place in Dublin City University on 30th & 31st August 2012. The overall theme of the conference is Responding to Change: Effective Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Within this, specific topics will include:

  • Fostering Creativity & Reflection in Higher Education
  • Graduates for a Digital Age: Information and Digital Literacy
  • Student Centred Approaches to Learning, Teaching & Research
  • Clustering and Collaboration among Higher Education Institutions
  • Interdisciplinarity in Learning & Teaching
  • Responding to the Changing Student Cohort
  • Engaging Students through Technology Enhanced Learning (elearning, mobile learning, facebook, secondlife, etc.)

The conference showcases the best of scholarship within the island of Ireland, and also warmly welcomes international participants who can share wider experience and perspectives.

  • AISHE Conference Fee (including Conference Dinner): €190
  • AISHE Conference Fee (excluding Conference Dinner):€150
  • AISHE Conference Fee Concessions (including Conference Dinner): €90
  • AISHE Conference Fee Concessions (excluding Conference Dinner): €50

  • Personal Assistant to participant with disability: €0
  • AISHE offers a Conference Fee Waiver Scheme to members on a case by case basis. (Please email outlining reason for waiver): info@aishe.org.
  • AISHE also offers up to three Conference Attendance Scholarships to Postgraduate Students from any third level institution across the Island of Ireland. Please email: info@aishe.org with your one page letter of application.

In keeping with the mission of the society and of this conference series, this is a premier venue in Ireland for presenting research and practice in higher education teaching and learning. The overarching theme of this year's conference is Valuing Complexity: Celebrating Diverse Approaches to Teaching & Learning in Higher Education. The conference showcases the best of scholarship within the island of Ireland, but also warmly welcomes international participants who can share wider experience and perspectives.
